TEXT, SCULPTURE, INSTALLATIONS, PHOTOGRAPHY & FIGURATIVE PAINTINGS.
Kaya is currently studying in her second year on the BA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins in London. Although she is working on the 3D pathway Kaya has produced many different works including Paintings, Installations, Sculptures, Photography and Text pieces. It is crucial to her that no matter what the final piece is it should be both aesthetically pleasing whilst grasping the viewer’s attention at the same time and that the piece for her must be always completely resolved.
She considers her work at times to be driven by concept, as well as being fascinated by how important the use of light is in her artworks and how it can be manipulated. The pieces she creates are very much influenced by current politics. In her work she often uses ready-mades as an element and will incorporate and adapt them to sit well with the rest of the piece. Kaya always experiments initially with a variety of mediums to establish what works best with the message that she is trying to portray.
