Textile Artist
A lifetime interest in art was channelled towards textiles after joining an embroidery evening class. Following the retirement of the tutor, I was recruited to take over the class. This was the start of a love affair with both teaching and creating individual pieces of Textile Art – wall hangings, pictures, felted and 3D items.
I love working with fabric and threads using a wide variety of techniques – hand-stitching, free machine embroidery, felt but, although I use a range of processes in my work, my source of inspiration is rather more restricted – my garden, birds and the stretch of West Coast where I live.
I teach classes and workshops through the CofFE, WEA and small informal groups at my home studio. Commissions and workshop enquires welcome.
