Emma Griffin studied a BTEC Art and Design Foundation Course in Edinburgh in 2006 and then went on to study part time courses in illustration whilst studying for a full time BA Hons Accounting degree.
She returned to the island two years ago and discovered that it was very difficult to find information regarding the art scene in Guernsey. In February 2014, She started developing the GSY ART HUB website. She wanted to provide a location for all art enthusiasts to be able to clearly find events for where and when things are happening in Guernsey and it has been receiving positive responses since its launch in April 2014.
Emma is currently working on three projects in her spare time. The first is a collection of vibrant cubism freesia paintings in watercolour, which you can see from the image above is a work in progress. The second is an illustrated comic strip and the third project is a children's picture book. The process of development for the picture book will be recorded and uploaded to you tube, to show and teach viewers how a picture book is made from the idea generation stage to a published book in a shop available for purchasing. She doesn't imagine that it will be easy, but it will give an insight into the whole process from start to finish to help others achieve the same goal.
If you would like to contact Emma about her projects, art work or for a friendly chat about all things creative then please send an email to the below address. She would be very happy to hear from you.
