Fine Art & Digital Photographer
David obtained his BA Fine Art Photography honours degree from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art back in 2001 before moving to live on the Island of Guernsey.
In 2009, David purchased his first digital camera and decided to dedicate some time to creating art work within the Guernsey landscape in an attempt to capture this beautiful Island in his own unique style. His initial project focused on creating a series of light paintings – a body of work that continues to grow (and attracts a lot of attention) to this very day. Last year David wrote and self-published an E-book on Light Painting: ‘A step-by-step guide to Light Painting’ which is available for download through his photography website.
More recently, David has created a series of work using miniature figurines that are normally used for model railway set-ups (the ‘Little People’ or Small World’ series) as well as turning his attention to the Star Wars film saga for some fresh inspiration.
David’s work has received some very welcome global media attention over the past few years. In December 2014 a film crew were flown over to Guernsey to create a short film about David’s unique approach to night photography. 2015 is already shaping up to be a very exciting year for David as his involvement in creative projects around the world continues to grow.
