Bozena Pollock

Painter

I was born in Poland where I studied at Art College in Krakow before coming to England in 1994. I attended Chelsea College of Art and Design and later completed a BSc in Restoration & Conservation at London Metropolitan University.

After meeting my Guernsey born husband in London we moved to the island in 2003 having previously visited on holiday many times. I was naturally taken by the charm of the island and its beautiful land and seascapes.

Having initially worked as an antique restorer and gilder, painting has always been a passion of mine, landscape, portraiture, still life. My favourite medium is the old fashioned oil paints on canvas, canvas paper, wooden boards. My work includes drawing with pastels, charcoal and pencils.

This July I had one of my paintings " Sunset on Sark" displayed in the Candie Gardens Museum, which I painted after being enchanted by the unique environment of the island and experiencing the colour, atmosphere and silence of the place.
