Artist & Poet Collaboration

Local artist Frances Lemmon is collaborating with Guernsey-born poet Candy Neubert at OCA Gallery in Jersey. The Exhibition is part of the Jersey Festival of Words.

The UK based poet has two published books Channel and Island.

'I tend to work from Candy's poetry as a starting point, to dissect the essence of each poem and to then run with some of the double meanings that occur in her poetry and to either illustrate them or to keep the meaning equality as oblique.'

This is the second collaboration by the pair, last year they put together a show of poems and six paintings in the Royal Court for the Guernsey Literary Festival and for next year they are planning a residential painting and writing retreat.

The gallery, which is at the Royal Court Chambers, 10 Hill Street, St Helier, Jersey and is opening specially for the festival on Saturday 1st October at 10am and Frances and Candy's will be giving a talk on the collaboration at 11am.
